How To Buy:

During the AARE beta everything will be free.

1. Find a property you're interested in.
2. Post your offer in the comments section.
3. Make sure to leave your character name and server or email address.
4. The seller will contact you if your offer is accepted. 

Appraisal System:

AARE suggests that all sales be done through the in-game appraisal system. To appraise your property, follow these steps:

1. Purchase appraisal certificates. (Marketplace or AH)
2. Bring up the UI for your property by facing it and pressing F.
3. Click sell.
4. Set the price and the intended buyer. (Specified buyer is not required)
5. NOTE: You need 1 appraisal certificate for every 100 gold of sales price. i.e. 100g = 1 certificate
6. Click register and your property is ready to be bought!

Buying land with no structures:

AARE suggests that you always use the appraisal system to avoid being scammed. A plot of land can be purchased at your own risk by having the owner demolish the existing structure to allow you to place your own.

WARNING: this method is often used by scammers who will take your gold without demolishing their structure.
